Police Training Center Boardroom (2021)

Adwar Video installed a boardroom system within a Police Training Center for use with staff meetings and presentations. The system utilizes two wall-mount displays positioned at either side of the table along with two ceiling-hung displays for clear views of the presentation material no matter where someone was sitting. The system is controlled from a touch panel located at a podium.

Plainedge HS Auditorium

Adwar designed and integrated new technology in the Plainedge HS Auditorium. The new system consisted of:

Two new 8500 Lumen HD projectors, two new HD electric screens. Installed on the front left and right angled walls with control from the Crestron system. A 32in display in the booth for previewing sources or watching record/stream feed.

New recording/streaming system. Including five HD cameras and control with a touch screen. Providing the control and video mixing of the five cameras and content for recording or streaming. Character Generator has been added to extend functions of video mixing system. A recording and streaming devices that can record, stream or do both. Recordings can be saved to a USB storage device or defined network storage. The streaming format is H.264 and adjustable resolutions and bit rates.

New Crestron DM system. Including a 16×16 video matrix with three inputs on the stage, one input on the stage front and 11 inputs in the booth for the cable box, Blu-ray, PC’s, AirMedia. Two outputs for the left and right projectors and four outputs in the booth for a preview monitor and recording devices.

New Crestron control system. Including a 15in touch panel in the booth and a 9in wireless touch panel mounted on the stage. The panels allows basic, and advanced user controls for the auditorium. It controls the DM system for video and audio routing, the projectors and screens, the recording/streaming device and basic audio controls. Crestron iPad app and PC Xpanel control also included. Lighting control interface to work with the existing lighting board.

Audio upgrades, adding stage inputs and utility mic inputs. Added eight microphone inputs onstage and four microphone inputs on the stage front. Three stage monitor outputs, two onstage and one on the stage front. Three utility microphones, two onstage and one on the stage front. Three stage monitors, three utility microphones, and one lectern microphone included. Upgraded the existing mic system to include antenna distribution system.

USB run for the owner furnished P25 in the projection booth to down on stage for the wireless keyboard. Additional USB ran from the P25 behind the stage up to the Projection booth. A new floor standing equipment rack houses all new and existing equipment. With internal power distribution and temperature controlled cooling fans.

Two floor boxes were installed in the stage for housing the video and audio inputs onstage. Also included is three 48″ wide technical workstation with rack storage.

Audio Console – Included a new 32 channel digital console that supports iPad app control. A remote stage box that allows up to 24 channels to be connected onstage. With a connection plate located on stage and a rolling rack for the stage box.

Center Projector – Includes a 12,000 Lumen HD projector and a projector lift with 17’8″ of drop for servicing. New HD electric screen installed above the stage.

New sound system consisting of (2) 18in subwoofers with (10) line array cabinets to provide even sound throughout the auditorium. New amplifiers and loud speaker processor are also included.

Stony Brook University Student Union (2020)

Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, NY recently renovated its Student Union and requested submissions for the design-build of Audio Visual for 17 spaces in the building. The building is approximately 175,000 sq feet and houses staff offices for 15 different departments that share common conference rooms, a multipurpose ballroom, a lecture room, and classrooms. After a stringent selection process that included initial designs, an interview, and a presentation, Adwar Video was selected to design, specify, procure, and install all of the Audio Visual equipment for the new building.

One of the notable design challenges was the multipurpose ballroom. This room would be used for live performance, lectures, and as an oversized classroom. The electronics had to be simple enough to be operated by a solo teacher or student, as well as robust enough to be fully controllable for live performances by an AV manager.

Adwar’s design team chose a Crestron control system and a Crestron NVX IP video system to allow flexibility of the room configuration and future expansion. A Panasonic 16,000 lumen laser projector with Dalite tensioned screen was selected for visual presentation. The audio consisted of a full Dante based system to allow inputs and outputs as needed per event type and ease of configuration. A rear booth was designed for advanced control when needed. Additional audio components were a Yamaha TF5 console for the rear control booth, BiAmp DSP processors, JBL speakers, Crown amplifiers, and Shure wireless microphones. Mid-Atlantic racks with internal battery backup, West Penn Cat6 cabling, and Spectrum lecterns were also incorporated. All programming work was done by Adwar programmers. Project was completed ahead of schedule and on-budget. Additional rooms were ordered by the customer.

Plainedge High School Innovative Learning Center

Adwar Video recently completed the design and installation of a unique multi-purpose AV system for Plainedge School District’s Innovative Learning Center. The ILC was envisioned as space that could support Board Meetings, Classroom Training, and Special Events for the school and the community. The requirements included sound and visual from multiple sources on multiple displays, along with a divisible configuration that allowed partitioning of the system within the space along with Cisco video conferencing. The challenge, as always, was to bring these requirements together into a system that was easy to use.

To meet those requirements, Adwar Video incorporated a Crestron control system featuring Smart Graphics interfaces on the touchpanels, (3) screened areas with NEC projectors, Crestron controllable thermostats, JBL ceiling speakers, Lectrosonics DSP’s, AKG wired and wireless microphones, and a Cisco video CODEC. A video matrix and two zoned ceiling speakers were programmed into the system to add to the functionality.

Additional equipment included Middle Atlantic racks, NEC NP-PX602WL-WH 6000 lumen projectors, Lectrosonics SPN2412 Digital Audio Processors, Crestron TST-600 Wireless Touch Screens and DM-MD16x16 DigitalMedia Switcher. Adwar Video worked closely with the Plainedge team to design the system to the customers strict requirements. All installation and programming was performed by Adwar Video’s internal technical staff.

This multi-million dollar contract consisted of 59 AV rooms and 38 Digital Signage rooms with diverse spaces such as Large MPR, Dental Clinic room, Radiologic X-Ray Classroom, SIMS Lab, Seminar Lab, and others.

The Large Multipurpose Room of 105 seats incorporated Crestron control and Crestron DM video switching with Pro3 processor and 10″ touchpanels. The DM 8×8 matrix with multiple floor boxes allowed for the instructor’s lectern to be located in different room configurations. A Crestron AirMedia for BYOD connections was included. Dual Epson 6000 laser projectors were used for room visual displays. Audio consisted of Clockaudio instructor mics, Shure wireless for audience, BiAmp DSPs, Lab Gruppen amplifiers, Extron surface mount speakers, and JBL ceiling speakers. A Listen Technologies Assisted Listening system was installed for ADA compliance. The video components included a Cisco SX80 video conferencing codec with Vaddio PTX cameras, and 18 Audix ceiling mics.

The project was completed as scheduled and within budget. Additional work was requested and provided.

Medgar Evers College Founders Auditorium

Adwar Video recently completed design and installation of a multi-faceted Audio Visual System for a premier presentation space.  The Founders Auditorium at Medgar Evers College in Downtown Brooklyn is an important dual-use instructional and performance venue for the school.  Lectures are given by day.  Plays and concerts are performed after hours.  The challenge was to provide a system that covered all of these roles while remaining easy to use.

To meet those requirements, Adwar Video created two complete EQ setup modes – “Live” and “Presentation”, with Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound for the latter. A Dante Digital Interface was added to assist with networking between all input points and the master console.  System control was implemented through installation of a Crestron DM Matrix System along with Crestron Touch panels.  Extron Switchers, a BiAmp Server and an Allen & Heath iLive Console completed the system design.

Additional equipment such as a Marshall Custom Lectern, Microphones from Shure and Clock Audio, QSC Power Amps and Subs, and Middle Atlantic Hardware & Racks rounded out the major components of the project.

Jerome L. Greene Space Video Production Studio

Adwar Video completed the build and installation of the video production studio at The Jerome L. Greene Space, WNYC’s multimedia broadcast facility at 160 Varick St in New York City. The Greene Space is outfitted with cutting-edge digital audio and video production systems.

At the heart of the studio is an innovative, state of the art, highly automated, I-ID video production system featuring robotic Sony I-iigh Definition cameras specifically designed to be operated by a single person. Says Bill Porter of Whitehorse Video Productions “the system is the realization of a unique vision of the future of multi-camera tele-production for the 21st century”.

Baruch College Vertical Campus Lecture Spaces

Eight Floor Multiple Campus AV Systems

Adwar Video recently completed the build and installation of multiple AV systems on eight floors of the prestigious Vertical Campus of Baruch University.  Key to the design was the Extron Medialink control panels that provided uniform control interfaces in all lecture spaces.  “Our instructors can walk into any of our spaces and immediately begin work” says Christian Keck, Deputy CIO.

Outfitted with cutting-edge digital audio and video equipment, the core of the systems are the Extron MLS608 switchers, controlled by Extron Touchlink Panels.  John Schappert, System Sales Engineer for Adwar Video, states “The MLS608 switcher is uniquely suited to handle new digital signals as well as legacy inputs.  The system had to be easy to use, and Extron Touchlink made that possible.  Additionally, the challenge at Baruch was bringing over 100 rooms on-line quickly, often while school was in-session.  Careful coordination was maintained by Tony Caggino, Account Manager, at every step to meet the customer’s requirements.  Plus, Extron worked with our team to assure delivery timeframes and overall success.”

Intermediate School 5 TV

Studio & Streaming Solution

Adwar Video recently completed the build and installation of a complete TV studio and building-wide digital content streaming solution for Walter Crowley Intermediate School  IS5 in NYC.   Richard Pusateri, Account Executive, working with the Adwar Video design team, chose JVC GY-HM710 HD Cameras with Studio Packages and a Black Magic Design production switcher to be the core of the TV Studio.  An important additional requirement was a complete content solution to allow capture, edit, and streaming of the finished product to all locations in the building.   Adwar chose an encoded system and worked with the customer’s IT department to install a dedicated video server on the customer’s internal network.  Adwar also designed and built a mobile broadcast cart that allows for remote transmission from any location within the school.

CUNY NYCCT New Academic Building (2018)

FJ Sciame, as Construction Manager for the City University Construction Fund, solicited the services of an AV Installation and Integration company for the CUNY NYCCT New Academic Building at 285 Jay Street in NYC. After a lengthy vetting process, Adwar Video was selected as the AV Integrator.

Kensho Technologies Presentation Space (2023)

Adwar Video Elevates Kensho Technologies’ Meeting Experience in Downtown Manhattan

Adwar Video has successfully implemented a state-of-the-art AV system across three key rooms at Kensho Technologies’ downtown Manhattan location, enhancing both in-person and remote meeting capabilities. The centerpiece is the Presentation room, boasting a stunning 192″ Planar LED video wall, seamlessly integrated with Crestron DM video switching and control systems. The audio experience is powered by Biamp TesiraFORTE X DSPs and TCM-X ceiling microphones, paired with Sonance pendant speakers, all driven by Crestron amplifiers.

Complementing the main room are two Training rooms, each equipped with dual 98″ NEC displays and Crestron DMPS3 systems for video switching and control. The audio setup mirrors the Presentation room with Biamp TesiraFORTE X DSPs, TCM-X ceiling microphones, and Sonance ceiling speakers, ensuring audio fidelity and clarity.

A highlight of the installation is the versatility in video conferencing options. Each room is outfitted with three distinct systems: a Cisco video codec, Google Meet compute engine, and BYOD USB conferencing, providing Kensho Technologies with flexible and reliable communication tools for any scenario.

This project by Adwar Video not only delivers an immersive audio-visual experience but also sets a new standard for corporate meeting environments.

S&P Global/McGraw Hill Conference Services

Corporate Conferencing Systems

Adwar Video recently completed the build and installation of six corporate meeting rooms for The McGraw-Hill Companies in NYC.  The rooms showcased display, conferencing, audio, and control.  Key components of the systems included Polycom codecs, EagleEye cameras, Crestron touchpanels, Sharp displays, and Innovox speakers.  All rooms needed to be brought online during the short December holiday break.  Adwar Video worked closely with the customer to meet or exceed these requirements.

Suffolk County Fire Rescue & Emergency Services

Emergency Command and Control Center

Adwar Video facilitated the design, build, and installation of a  control system and interactive displays for Suffolk County Fire Rescue and Emergency Service in Yaphank, NY.  The room is a rapid response, command and control center for the county.   In the Command Center, Adwar Video was asked to provide centralized control for the approximately twenty HD displays located throughout the room.  In the Emergency Operations Center, Adwar Video supplied interactive displays that are used by responders for debriefing events.  Key to the installation was integration while the center remained fully operational.  Main manufacturers included Crestron, Sharp, and Middle Atlantic.

Baruch College Lecture Halls

Adwar Video recently completed the design and build of a series of Lecture Halls at Baruch College.  Customer requirements included multiple PTZ cameras for streaming/archiving/image magnification, wireless mics, “anysource anywhere” switching, and the ever popular “must be easy to use” factor for the rear control room.   Adwar Video provided major components from Extron, Surgex, Panasonic, Sharp, Dalite, NEC, Crown, and Shure.  Vaddio ProductionView HD switchers with Multiview and Joysticks provided key control and operation of the cameras.  Crestron processors and touchpanels provided overall system control and HD signal distribution.

Montauk Lighthouse Interactive Aquarium Video Wall (2023)

This life-like aquarium is made up of a 4.5 foot high x 16′ foot wide Philips video wall displaying interactive fish in a photo-realistic 3D reef rendered in real-time. You’ll see sharks, pufferfish, and much more. Content and interactive technology were provided by Vertigo Systems

S&P Global Executive Floor Renovation (2023)

Amidst the bustling NYC Financial District, S&P Global unveiled a state-of-the-art executive floor renovation, revitalizing over 40 rooms with advanced AV technology. The mission was to upgrade the AV experience with intuitive systems, adhering to S&P Global’s established standards

The project spanned from intimate huddle rooms to an expansive executive boardroom, each equipped with Poly’s sophisticated solutions. Smaller spaces boasted Poly X70 sound bars and TC8 panels, while larger areas featured Poly G7500 codecs with TC10 panels. The integration of Atlona’s video and USB extensions, alongside Extron and Crestron controls, provided a seamless user experience, with Extron’s Android App operating on Poly TC10 panels.

The audio system’s excellence was achieved with Biamp DSPs, amplifiers, speakers, and TCM-X microphones, complemented by Sennheiser TCC2 microphones for conferencing and voice lift in the boardroom.

A hallmark of innovation was the custom solution developed to integrate Extron control with Crestron DM video switching, overcoming supply chain challenges and meeting project timelines. This ingenuity enabled the use of existing equipment in larger spaces, showcasing a harmonious blend of Extron and Crestron systems.

The project’s success is evident in the modernized AV equipment, from the 2×2 video wall in the reception area to the digital signage displays and versatile conference spaces. The floor now supports a range of functionalities, including Poly, Zoom, Teams calls, and BYOD capabilities, as well as Town Hall meetings with remote participation.

The executive boardroom, in particular, stands out with its rich features yet effortless usability. The project’s reliance on a robust AVB and Dante network, powered by Netgear M4250 series switches, underscores the technical sophistication that underpins this AV transformation.

S&P Global’s executive floor now exemplifies the future of corporate AV—innovative, user-friendly, and ready to meet the demands of tomorrow’s business landscape.

Nassau County Police Department (NCPD) Intelligence Center (2021)

Nassau County Police Department (NCPD) opened the David S. Mack Center for Training and Intelligence to provide local law enforcement agencies with a high-tech facility for training and investigations. The building includes the Lead Development Center (LDC), which acts as a control room and central hub for active investigations, command operations, and emergency response. The focal point of the LDC is a nearly 32-foot-long, 18-foot-high Clarity® Matrix® G3 LCD Video Wall System, controlled by a Crestron matrixing video switcher and Crestron control system.

The AV system supports the NCPD’s intelligence-led policing model, which integrates technology into police work. Tools and software applications are synched to the video wall, and operators can merge and display multiple sources in one comprehensive view. By enhancing data visibility, the AV system improves the situational awareness of personnel, fostering more accurate and informed decisions.
